Rescheduling of Spring Garden Tours for Safety Precautions

The Spring Garden Tours, originally set for Saturday, April 5, 2025, have been shifted to Sunday, April 6, 2025. This decision stems from a commitment to prioritize safety, given the public demonstrations anticipated near the White House on the original date.

Collaboration for a Safe Experience

The White House is coordinating with the United States Secret Service and the National Park Service to ensure a secure environment for all ticket holders during the 2025 Spring Garden Tours. The tours will now take place on Sunday, April 6, 2025, with a crucial adjustment: all tickets issued for Saturday will be valid on Sunday between 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM, irrespective of the time slot originally indicated on the ticket.

Visitor Guidelines for the Rescheduled Tour

For those attending on Sunday, April 6, it is essential to adhere to the time slots specified on their tickets. Visitors will still be able to visit key areas such as the South Lawn, the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, the Rose Garden, and the White House Kitchen Garden, as initially planned.

Prohibited Items for a Secure Visit

To ensure the safety and security of all guests, the following items are strictly prohibited on the White House grounds:

  • Aerosols of any kind
  • Animals (except guide dogs)
  • Any pointed objects
  • Oversized backpacks
  • Balloons
  • Any beverages
  • Duffle bags and suitcases
  • Electric stun guns
  • Fireworks and firecrackers
  • Any food items
  • Guns and ammunition
  • Insulated metal containers
  • Knives of any kind
  • Mace
  • Selfie sticks
  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes)
  • Tablets (including iPads)
  • Toy weapons of any kind
  • Water bottles
  • Bicycles and scooters

The Secret Service retains the authority to prohibit any additional personal items deemed necessary for safety. However, essential items such as strollers, wheelchairs, umbrellas (without metal tips), and cameras are permitted. Medical necessities like wheelchairs, electric scooters, glucose tablets, and EpiPens will also be allowed, provided that visitors inform Secret Service personnel upon arrival of these items.
