However, as October rolls in, that figure has dropped to just two. While many films linger in the 80-89 percent range, we’ve chosen to spotlight a couple that stood out.

For this month, Watch With Us presents Netflix films that have earned a score of at least 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, featuring an upcoming documentary that proudly holds a perfect 100 percent.

‘The Hurt Locker’ (2008)

Director Kathryn Bigelow marked a significant achievement at the 2009 Oscars by claiming the Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture with her compelling war film, The Hurt Locker. The story features Jeremy Renner as Sergeant First Class William James, a skilled operator in the army’s bomb squad during the Iraq War.

Sergeant James finds himself at odds with teammates, Sergeant J.T. Sanborn (Anthony Mackie) and Specialist Owen Eldridge (Brian Geraghty), who consider his extreme approach to defusing bombs a risk to their survival. In the midst of overwhelming danger, the squad faces a harsh reality where they must reevaluate their futures if they hope to escape Iraq alive.

‘Taxi Driver’ (1976)

Even an iconic film like Taxi Driver can fall short of the 90 percent threshold on Rotten Tomatoes, but it remains an essential classic. Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film tells the story of a disturbed Vietnam War veteran, Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro), whose struggle with mental illness leads him down a dark path.

After unsuccessful attempts to win over Betsy (Cybill Shepherd), Travis becomes fixated on assassinating her employer, Senator Charles Palantine (Leonard Harris), who is running for President. He also forms a bond with a young prostitute, Iris Steensma (Jodie Foster), devising a perilous plan to save her.

‘The Perfect Neighbor’ (2025)

Rotten Tomatoes score: 100 percent

The Perfect Neighbor has achieved the unique distinction of a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, though it presents a grim narrative. Based on true events, the film chronicles the confrontation between Ajike “AJ” Shantrell Owens and her neighbor, Susan Lorincz, in Florida on June 2, 2023.

Through 911 calls and police interactions, viewers are shown Lorincz’s ongoing complaints about Owens’ children playing in the vicinity, ultimately leading to a tragic murder. The film provides a haunting exploration of the ramifications of “Stand your ground” laws as the story unfolds.

The Perfect Neighbor premieres on Netflix on October 17.
