Interestingly, the most talked-about show around the water cooler this year is set in an office environment. However, it’s far from ordinary. In this dark comedy series, Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) portrays an employee at the biotechnology company Lumon Industries. His character, along with his colleagues, has undergone a medical procedure known as “severance,” designed to separate work memories from those outside the office.
This leads to characters having dual personalities: the “innie,” confined to the office, and the “outie,” who engages with the world beyond. The system quickly unveils a complexity and darkness that surpass the expectations of Lumon’s employees.
Fans are drawn to Severance for its insightful critique of corporate culture, the intriguing mysteries it unfolds, and the thought-provoking exploration of identity.
Severance is available for streaming on Apple TV.
