Sydney Warner shared a heartfelt message of encouragement following her husband, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, enduring a significant injury that will end his season.
“It’s all part of God’s plan. Keep your faith alive ❤️,” Sydney, aged 30, penned in a post on her Instagram Story on Monday, October 13.
Fred, 28, suffered a dislocated and fractured ankle during the 49ers’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 12, which ended in a 30-19 defeat. Following the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that the linebacker would require surgery, sidelining him for the remainder of the season.
“Some games you wake up thinking, ‘Today is going to be my day,’ and yesterday felt like one of those days for me,” Fred stated on Instagram on Monday. “I knew I was ready to showcase my skills, and then it all changed in a flash, an accident I could do nothing about. The love and prayers I’ve received are invaluable. Some wonder why I was smiling on the cart; it’s because, despite the shock, I truly believe that God’s plan is flawless, and I am right where I need to be.”
He went on to say, “I’ve been fortunate to have enjoyed a very healthy eight seasons, and now it’s time to focus on my road to recovery. This comeback will be incredible, and it’s all in God’s timing. Thank you all for your love; GO NINERSb 🙏🏾❤️.”
Throughout his eight-year tenure with the 49ers, Fred has only missed one game, due to a hamstring issue in 2021.
The injury occurred in the first quarter when teammate Ji’Ayir Brown inadvertently rolled over his right leg.
Sydney and Fred crossed paths shortly after she participated in Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor in 2020. The couple tied the knot in June 2022 and welcomed their firstborn, son Beau, in March 2024.
Recently, the pair shared the exciting news of expecting their second child, due in 2026.
In a December 2024 exclusive with Us Weekly, Sydney revealed it took her some time to navigate her role within the community of wives and partners of the 49ers players.
“Eventually, you learn where to fit in,” Sydney expressed. “It took a bit for me to determine my role as a wife, then as a mother, and now as Fred’s partner. That’s a significant accomplishment to share.”
She went on to say, “As a couple, we collaborate exceptionally well. I love being a teammate for Fred while also carving out my own path. Timing plays a crucial role in these adjustments, and they’ve all fallen into place beautifully.”
Sydney expressed her enthusiasm for the 49ers’ supportive community of accomplished women, including renowned fashion designer Kristin Juszczyk, spouse of fullback Kyle Juszczyk, and renowned model Olivia Culpo, who is married to running back Christian McCaffrey.
“It’s refreshing to see these women being recognized now,” Sydney stated. “Watching things evolve is exciting. Being part of such a remarkable community and organization like the 49ers is a blessing. We couldn’t be happier with our circumstances.”
