Five individuals tragically lost their lives in a murder-suicide incident that occurred on a serene cul-de-sac in Nassau County. This devastating event unfolded shortly after the passing of the family’s matriarch, Theresa Martha DeLucia, and as relatives were preparing to sell the house where the tragedy took place.
The victims, all of whom were shot to death, were found inside the small blue home on Wyoming Court in Syosset. The perpetrator, believed to be DeLucia’s adult son who resided in the residence with his late mother, ultimately took his own life on the front lawn of the property.

Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder confirmed that the incident was indeed a murder-suicide, with the adult son believed to have been distressed over the circumstances surrounding the sale of the house. This led him to fatally shoot four individuals inside the residence before taking his own life.
A neighbor residing across the street from DeLucia and her son shared that the son had been struggling with mental health issues and was deeply affected by his mother’s passing and the prospect of losing the home where he had lived his entire life.
