The next installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, titled Hexe, is highly anticipated by fans of the franchise. With leaks suggesting that a Black Flag remake and Project Stardust are also in the works, Ubisoft has a lot to live up to with their upcoming release. In order to make Hexe a standout title, Ubisoft should prioritize certain key features that have defined the Assassin’s Creed series over the years.

  1. A true stealth-first approach:
Stealth has always been a core element of the Assassin’s Creed games, but recent entries like Mirage and Shadows have somewhat strayed from this focus. In Hexe, Ubisoft should return to a true stealth-first approach, where players must rely on cunning and strategy to navigate through missions without being detected.

  2. Improved parkour and navigation:
Parkour has always been a signature mechanic in Assassin’s Creed games, allowing players to traverse the environment with fluidity and grace. In Hexe, Ubisoft should further enhance the parkour system, building upon the improvements made in Mirage and Shadows to create a seamless and intuitive navigation experience.

  3. Better enemy AI:
One of the criticisms of recent Assassin’s Creed games has been the lackluster enemy AI, which often makes it too easy for players to outmaneuver their foes. In Hexe, Ubisoft should revamp the enemy AI to provide a more challenging and dynamic gameplay experience, where players must adapt to the tactics of their adversaries.

  4. A focused open-world:
While expansive open worlds can be impressive, they can also lead to a lot of filler content that detracts from the main story. In Hexe, Ubisoft should prioritize a focused open-world experience, with meaningful side quests and activities that enhance the main narrative rather than detract from it.

  5. Return to the Assassin-Templar conflict:
The core conflict between the Assassins and the Templars has always been a central theme in the Assassin’s Creed series. In Hexe, Ubisoft should revisit this conflict with a compelling narrative that delves deeper into the motivations and ideologies of both factions, providing players with a more engaging and immersive story.

  6. Meaningful tools:
Tools and upgrades in Assassin’s Creed games should not just be cosmetic additions, but should significantly impact gameplay and offer players new ways to approach missions. In Hexe, Ubisoft should focus on developing tools that unlock distinct playstyles and strategies, allowing for greater player choice and customization.

  7. Replayable endgame content:
After completing the main story, players often find themselves with little to do in Assassin’s Creed games. In Hexe, Ubisoft should introduce robust endgame content that offers challenging combat and engaging activities to keep players invested in the game long after the main campaign is over.

By prioritizing these key features, Ubisoft can ensure that Hexe lives up to the expectations of fans and delivers a truly memorable and immersive Assassin’s Creed experience.
