7 Ways To Improve Your Android Phone Battery Life

Making your Android phone last longer is essential for maximizing its utility. From streaming apps to games to productivity tools, a dead phone can render them all useless. Fortunately, there are some simple tips and tricks you can implement to improve your Android phone’s battery life by up to 25%. These tips are easy to find and configure as they are all part of the standard Android operating system.

  1. Turn off the always-on display: Disabling the always-on display can help save battery power. This feature, while convenient for checking notifications, can drain your battery quickly. To turn it off, go to Settings, search for "Display & touch," and disable the Always-on display option. You can also adjust the brightness level to further conserve battery power.
  2. Disable GPS when not in use: The GPS chip on your phone consumes a significant amount of battery power. If you’re not using navigation apps that require GPS, consider disabling Location Services in the Settings. This simple step can help extend your phone’s battery life.
  3. Remove resource-intensive apps: Social media apps like Facebook can be resource-intensive and drain your battery quickly. Consider removing these apps if you don’t need them or only reinstalling them when necessary. This simple hack can save power and reduce the time you spend on your phone.
  4. Try bedtime mode: Bedtime mode is an often overlooked feature on Android phones that can help reduce phone usage and, consequently, save battery power. This mode dims the screen and turns it black and white, making your phone less appealing and encouraging you to use it less. You can find this feature under Digital Wellbeing in Settings.
  5. Place your phone face down: Enabling the "Flip to Shh" option in Settings allows you to place your phone face down to disable notifications and block calls unless they are from your favorite contacts. This simple trick can help you use your phone less and save battery power.
  6. Check your usage score: Monitoring your Digital Wellbeing usage can provide valuable insights into which apps you use the most. By identifying and removing apps that consume a lot of your time, you can extend your phone’s battery life significantly.
  7. Reduce the screen timeout time: Adjusting the screen timeout time to a shorter duration can also help save battery power. Setting it to one or two minutes can strike a balance between convenience and power savings.

By implementing these tips and tricks, you can improve your Android phone’s battery life and make the most of your device throughout the day. Each of these strategies may have a modest impact on its own, but when combined, they can deliver noticeable results. Give them a try and see the difference they make in extending your phone’s battery life.
