A horrifying incident occurred in Lakeview on Saturday night, where a 32-year-old man was brutally beaten and robbed outside his condominium building. The attack took place in the 2900 block of North Sheridan Road around 9:30 p.m. when a group of about eight attackers, believed to be juveniles, approached the victim and asked to be let inside the building.
Refusing their request, the victim was then assaulted by the group, who proceeded to steal his phone and key fob before fleeing the scene on foot. Despite the traumatic experience, the man declined medical attention at the scene.
According to a witness account, the attackers appeared to be juveniles or teenagers, dressed in dark clothing with some wearing ski masks. As of Sunday, no suspects had been apprehended, and the investigation into the incident was ongoing.
