Abbie Duggar is currently navigating the challenging waters of hyperemesis as she embarks on her third pregnancy journey.
âWe’re a little over halfway there! The first half was quite a rollercoaster, but I’m grateful to feel more like myself again!â Abbie, 33, shared through Instagram on Saturday, September 27, complemented by an adorable photo showcasing her baby bump. âGod is good! #pregnant #hyperemesis.â
In a picturesque sunset shot taken at an undisclosed beach, Abbie radiates joy, donning a dark pink maxi dress while tenderly cradling her growing bump.
As she celebrates hitting the halfway mark, Abbie disclosed her struggles with hyperemesis, a severe form of morning sickness characterized by extreme nausea and vomiting, which, as detailed by the Cleveland Clinic, can sometimes necessitate hospitalization to prevent serious complications, including the risk of pregnancy loss.
Abbie is not alone in this tumultuous experience; numerous mothers, including Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, have bravely battled hyperemesis while expecting. Indeed, all three of her pregnancies with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were overshadowed by this debilitating condition. Similarly, Ayesha Curry shared her harrowing ordeal during her third pregnancy on the âBecause Lifeâ podcast, remarking, âI felt terrible every day. I struggled to keep food and fluids down. I lost weight. It was tough.â
The announcement of Abbie’s pregnancy alongside husband John-David Duggar came on September 3. Their love story ignited in June 2018, culminating in a November wedding the same year. Together, they’ve welcomed two children, Grace and Charlie, born in January 2020 and October 2022, respectively.
âWe’ve been keeping a little secret⊠đŒđŒ,â they playfully penned in an early September 2025 Instagram post regarding their third baby, adding, âBaby #3 will be arriving early 2026!!!â

The coupleâs charming family photos also highlighted their two oldest children, with Grace, 5, donning a pink dress that harmonized with a â1â balloon, while Charlie, 3, proudly displayed a blue â2â balloon, coordinated with his trendy button-down shirt. Abbie and John-David held a white â3â balloon alongside their ultrasound images.
The Duggar family members expressed overwhelming enthusiasm in the comments section, applauding the coupleâs latest news. (John-David is one of the 19 offspring of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.)
âCongrats! Weâre thrilled for you all!â exclaimed John-Davidâs twin sister, Jana Duggar, via her Instagram Stories. Jana is also expecting her first child with husband Stephen Wissman.
In an exclusive conversation following Grace’s birth, the reality star parents candidly shared, âWe are adapting to our new life, which has brought a few long nights, especially since Gracie is figuring out her day-and-night schedule. Both mom and baby are doing well, and weâre utterly smitten!â
They added, âIt has been heartwarming to receive so much love and practical help from our families. We deeply appreciate their support as we step into this beautiful new chapter in our lives.â
The couple first shared the arrival of Charlie in October 2022 on Instagram, stating, âWeâre now a family of 4! We’ve welcomed little Charlie and have been cherishing every moment with our newborn!â
