The beloved “Peanuts” characters will remain at Apple TV+. The streaming service has just sealed a five-year extension, ensuring that Charlie Brown and his friends will be part of its lineup until 2030.
Apple has been developing original “Peanuts” content since 2018, with the entire “Peanuts” library becoming available on Apple TV+ in 2020. This new extension builds upon the partnership between Apple and its collaborators, WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide, and Lee Mendelson Film Productions. Fans can currently enjoy original shows such as “Camp Snoopy,” “Snoopy Presents: It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown,” and “Peanuts In Space: Secrets of Apollo 10.”
The renewed agreement includes access to the classic library along with plans for new original series and specials. An upcoming animated feature film, initially announced in 2023, is also underway in production.
“In this momentous 75th anniversary year, we are excited to extend our collaboration with our incredible partners at WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide, and Lee Mendelson,” remarked Tara Sorensen, head of children’s programming at Apple TV+. “Our commitment to ‘Peanuts’ is profound. These cherished characters and touching stories have a timeless impact, appealing to audiences of all ages around the world. We are thrilled that the classic holiday specials will continue to be accessible, preserving this beloved tradition for everyone to enjoy.”
Additionally, for those without an Apple TV+ subscription, several classic “Peanuts” specials will be available for free streaming this holiday season. Below are the details:
