Shoppers at a grocery store in southern Arizona experienced an unexpected visitor when a bear made its way through the entrance and roamed around inside for several moments before making its exit.
The bear had been seen wandering the neighborhood close to a Fryâs grocery store over the weekend and was again spotted on Monday behind the building just prior to its entrance.
It managed to enter the store after nudging against the automatic doors, as reported by Darren Wright, a representative of the Oro Valley Police Department.
âIt simply ran around,â stated Wright. âI don’t believe it caused any harm.â
A shopper captured video footage of a man searching for the bear within the store.
After checking his phone, the man looked up to discover the bear just a few feet away from him.
The bear quickly dashed away from the surprised individual.
It was reported that the bear was spotted in the produce section of the store but it is believed that it did not take any items.
A nearby officer came to the scene and assisted in evacuating the store.
Authorities lost track of the bear following its departure from the grocery establishment.
âWe have observed multiple bear sightings in Oro Valley,â Wright mentioned. âOccasionally, they come down from the desert, but this particular encounter has been quite unusual for us.â
