New Jersey Transit is currently facing significant challenges.

Commuters in the Garden State are experiencing a particularly tough week due to frustrating delays affecting rail service on two major lines, compounded by a bus fire on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Last Friday, a slow-speed derailment occurred between Millburn and Summit stations, leading to prolonged delays on the Morris & Essex line heading to Penn Station and leaving many commuters exasperated.

New Jersey Transit has cancelled 25 trains as track repairs are being carried out, causing commuters to face “reduced service” on Thursday morning.

A representative from New Jersey Transit stated to The Post that the “M&E is on a special timetable until further notice while repairs take place.”

Additionally, a fire erupted aboard a New Jersey Transit bus on the 113 line that was traveling north on the Turnpike near Secaucus around 6:12 a.m. Thursday.

The bus, which was supposed to reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 6:13 a.m., caught fire after blowing a tire, as reported by ABC 7. Fortunately, all passengers were evacuated without incident.

PATH train service between Hoboken and both the World Trade Center and 33rd Street stations was suspended for about two hours on Thursday morning while repairs were conducted on a rail near Manhattan’s Christopher Street station, per the Port Authority.

By approximately 7:30 a.m., service was restored in both directions, although officials advised passengers to remain alert for ongoing delays throughout the day.
