Lori Loughlin and her spouse Mossimo Giannulli have decided to part ways after almost 28 years of marriage, as confirmed by Us Weekly.
“They are currently living separately,” Loughlin’s representative informed Us on Thursday, October 2, adding, “No legal actions are being taken at this time.”
The couple shares two daughters, Isabella Rose, 27, and Olivia Jade, 26. They weathered the 2019 college admissions controversy and their respective prison sentences prior to their split this year.
The Full House star and the fashion entrepreneur eloped in November 1997, just before Thanksgiving.
Loughlin — who was previously married to Michael Burns from 1989 to 1996 — had shared with Entertainment Tonight in February 2018 that she and Giannulli had discussed having a wedding but ultimately chose to elope, saying, “Let’s get up and let’s go do it.”
The couple welcomed their first daughter, Bella, in September 1998, followed by Olivia Jade a year later. (Giannulli also has a son Gianni, 34, from his previous marriage to Chris Giannulli.)
“He’s my guy, he’s my person,” Loughlin said of Mossimo in February 2018 after two decades of marriage. She emphasized that communication and flexibility were crucial to their enduring bond.
Less than a year after the elopement, their marriage faced challenges when both Loughlin and Mossimo were apprehended in connection with the college admissions scandal. They were accused of falsely claiming their daughters were crew team members and paying $500,000 to secure their admissions into the University of Southern California.
During this time, Loughlin and her husband pled not guilty to charges of fraud and conspiracy in April 2019. As they awaited their verdicts, a source informed Us Weekly that the scandal significantly strained their marriage.
“Their daughter Bella is extremely worried they might get divorced,” an insider revealed to Us in September 2019.
<pIn May 2020, Loughlin and Mossimo changed their plea, pleading guilty to charges of wire and mail fraud. Mossimo was sentenced to five months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release and 250 hours of community service, being released three weeks ahead of schedule in April 2021.
Meanwhile, Loughlin served two months at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California, being released in December 2020. She then began her supervised release period, which included two years and 100 hours of community service.
The couple was required to pay a total of $400,000 in fines, which they settled in November 2020.
Before their separation became public, they listed their Hidden Hills home in California for an asking price of $16.5 million. The 11,800-square-foot residence was placed on the market earlier in February.
