Netflix is set to launch a local version of the popular reality dating show “Love Is Blind” in Italy, following successful adaptations in the U.K. and Sweden. The Italian adaptation, titled “Love Is Blind Italy,” is currently in the casting process and is open to Italian residents. Produced by Banijay Italia for Netflix, the show’s premiere date has not been announced yet.
“Love Is Blind” first premiered in the U.S. in 2020 and has since become a massive success, consistently ranking among Nielsen’s top 10 most-streamed titles across multiple seasons. The show’s unique concept, where singles date in soundproofed pods without seeing each other, has captured the attention of audiences worldwide.
The U.S. version of “Love Is Blind” has already inspired adaptations in Japan, Brazil, Sweden, the U.K., Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Argentina, the UAE, and now Italy. Each version puts a local spin on the original format while retaining the core concept of the show.
One of the most recent adaptations, “Love Is Blind, Habibi,” was filmed in Dubai and is set to debut on Netflix on Oct. 10. The show follows the same premise as its predecessors, with singles forming connections without seeing each other face-to-face.
The U.K. version of “Love Is Blind,” which premiered in August, featured 30 singles from various cities like Dublin, London, and Edinburgh. The diverse cast included individuals from different backgrounds, ranging in age from 27 to 38, such as a chicken restaurateur, a techno DJ, and a baby photographer.
As Netflix continues to expand the “Love Is Blind” franchise globally, viewers can look forward to more exciting adaptations in different countries, each offering a fresh perspective on the search for love in a unique and unconventional way.
