A celebratory evening took a dark turn in Alabama as a shooting incident claimed at least two lives and left 14 others injured, including two children, with one in critical condition.
Montgomery Police reported that shots were fired around 11:30 PM during a heavily attended city event featuring a fair and a football game between Tuskegee University and Morehouse College.
Reports indicate that the violence erupted following a confrontation between two groups, escalating into a gunfight that swept through the crowded streets.
Among the deceased was a woman, while at least two children were injured, one critically.
As of Sunday morning, authorities reported that 12 out of the 14 injured individuals are still receiving treatment at local hospitals. No individuals have been apprehended as the investigation continues.
