Steven McBee Jr. sensed trouble in his relationship with Allie Eklund during the recent episode of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, which aired before their breakup in April.
On the August 10 episode of the Bravo series, Steven, 33, expressed his belief in a confessional that “long distance is the kiss of death for relationships,” as Allie, 29, prepared to leave Missouri to stay with her sister in Texas.
Allie acknowledged the difficulties she faced, stating, âThe whole situation is really tough for me.â
She added, âI love Steven and care about him deeply. Weâve just had a whirlwind of a few months, and I need some time to process it all.â
Allie grew emotional while Steven drove her to the airport after spending two months together.
She confided in a confessional, âI told my family Iâm coming back home. I told my sister I was going to live with her. I had all these prior commitments. Then, obviously, I meet my dream guy, and I donât want him to be upset.â
Allie expressed her concerns, saying, âI feel like we are moving quickly, almost in survival mode, and itâs worrying me a bit. Iâm hoping this move back to Texas and this space will allow us to slow down a little bit.â
She continued, âIf itâs meant to be, this move shouldnât affect our relationship.â
Steven shared in his own confessional his confusion about how they ended up on different pages, noting that their relationship hit a snag after he met her family around Thanksgiving 2025, followed by their first significant argument the following month.
He reflected, âI thought we were on the same track. Looking back on it now, I think the smarter move would have been to not come on so strong or not start out so hot and heavy.â
While driving Allie to the airport, he described their romance as âa whirlwind,â saying it was âbittersweetâ to see her leave now that they had grown so close.

Despite feeling disconnected from Allie after she left Missouri, Steven later revealed to his brothers that he intended to move to Texas to focus on their relationship.
He hinted at plans for an engagement, inquiring with a jeweler about a âyellow goldâ diamond. However, he later disclosed to Us last month that he âdid not buy the ring,â citing financial reasons.
Months later, in April, Steven accused Allie of infidelity at the Stagecoach Music Festival, a claim she publicly denied. She shared contentious messages from Steven, which sparked further controversy.
Steven later expressed regret for the messages, telling Us in May that he considered them âcruel and degrading.â
In July, Allie shared with Us that she did not need closure after Stevenâs handling of their breakup.
She explained, âWhen I realized it was a pattern and not circumstantial, that was the final straw for me. Thereâs no conversation needed, no closure left. Thatâs closure enough. When he asked for a closure conversation, I declined because when actions and words donât align, thereâs nothing more to say. I wish him well from afar.â
Both Allie and Steven have indicated to Us that they are not currently pursuing new relationships.
Allie humorously remarked to Us that she hopes to meet someone in Texas, saying, âA lot of Texas boys are cowboys. So they are not off the table for me. Weâll see.â
Steven quipped last month that while he is now âopen to any hair colorâ on a woman, his vision for a future partner remains largely the same.
He stated, âAs far as what I want to do with my wife and build a life together, not only on the personal side but professionally, I want to work day in and day out with my wife. I think that is such a cool experience to say that hey, we built something from the ground up together. I still really want to do that.â
The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys airs on Bravo Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
