The Los Angeles Police Department has reported a successful operation at CoolKicks L.A., recovering stolen merchandise valued at $500,000, which includes more than 2,100 pairs of unreleased Nike sneakers.

On Monday, the LAPD revealed that various divisions collaborated to execute a search warrant at the CoolKicks L.A. warehouse situated on Stewart Street in Santa Monica.

During the raid on October 2, authorities seized a significant haul that included over 2,100 pairs of unreleased Nike sneakers and 150 cartons of apparel.

The LAPD estimates the total value of the recovered stolen items at around $500,000.

According to earlier reports, CoolKicks L.A. owner Adeel Shams was taken into custody during the operation, being charged with “Receiving Known Stolen Property over $950.00,” a felony charge.

At the time of the raid, he was involved in auctioning items on the Whatnot app.

A spokesperson for CoolKicks expressed that this event was a “complete shock” to their team, emphasizing they had no prior knowledge that the items were stolen.

“We approached this purchase with good faith, as we always have, focusing on conducting an honest business built on trust and integrity,” the representative stated.

“It’s essential to clarify that no allegations have been made by law enforcement suggesting that any of the products were counterfeit.”

“We sincerely apologize for any concern and inconvenience this may have caused. CoolKicks has always promoted honest business practices, and this commitment remains unchanged.”

Shams is scheduled to appear in court on October 23.
