A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning in Brooklyn, where a 60-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by two men on an e-bike. The accident happened as she was trying to cross the street shortly after getting off the B57 bus, at the intersection of Flushing Avenue and North Elliot Place near the Brooklyn Navy Yard, around 7:20 a.m., according to law enforcement sources.
Witnesses report that she was crossing the bike lane when the e-bike crashed into her. Emergency responders rushed her to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, but she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The two men on the e-bike, aged 39 and 41, were also taken to the same hospital but are reported to be in stable condition, as per authorities.
A section of the bike lane shares space with the sidewalk, a common setup in busy urban areas.
Authorities have yet to make any arrests in connection with the incident, and the victim’s identity has not been disclosed at this time.
