Presidential Message on National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

Each day, breast cancer dramatically alters the lives of numerous Americans, plunging them and their families into profound anxiety, uncertainty, and sorrow. During this National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we honor the strength and bravery of those who are fighting this disease—and we renew our pledge to eradicate this devastating illness once and for all.

In the United States, one in eight women will confront breast cancer at some point in their lives. My Administration is resolute in our efforts to bring an end to this tragedy. Through our groundbreaking Make America Healthy Again initiative, we are dedicated to reducing cancer rates, ensuring that fewer individuals, families, and futures endure the relentless physical and emotional pain that accompanies cancer.

We encourage all Americans to take charge of their health by understanding their family history and potential risk factors, engaging in early detection practices, and adopting preventive measures and lifestyle changes to mitigate cancer risk. Furthermore, we pledge to continue prioritizing research and medical innovations that bring us closer to cures.

This month, we celebrate the courage of our nation’s four million breast cancer survivors, we hold in our thoughts those fighting for remission and recovery, and we grieve with all who have lost dear ones. Together, we commit to striving for a healthier, more prosperous, and cancer-free future for our nation.
