Domestic violence remains a devastating attack on one of our Nation’s most essential pillars: the family unit. For families to thrive, it is essential that every member feels secure. This troubling issue predominantly affects women, who are often the core of family stability, and their vulnerable children, causing untold harm. During this National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, my Administration reaffirms its pledge to eliminate domestic violence through reinforcing the rule of law, revitalizing our communities, and rigorously pursuing every offender who threatens the safety of our citizens and their loved ones.

From the safety of our homes and workplaces to the vibrant streets of our towns, domestic violence continues to inflict unbearable pain, trauma, and despair on nearly 10 million Americans annually. As President, I am dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence, ensuring they know they are never isolated, and that resources and assistance are readily available. For immediate, confidential support, please reach out to the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.

In our efforts to further protect families and communities from domestic violence, I am focused on securing our southern border, dismantling human trafficking operations, and executing the largest mass deportation operation in our Nation’s history. We are expelling dangerous undocumented individuals who have instigated violence and chaos in our communities—many having faced serious charges, including domestic violence, against American citizens. Additionally, I have shown support for our law enforcement, who are on the front lines addressing and preventing domestic violence. I have also enacted the TAKE IT DOWN Act, a significant measure that enhances protections for families and children from digital exploitation and deepfakes, often utilized by abusers in online harassment.

This month, we reaffirm that the American Dream must be accessible for all our fathers, mothers, daughters, and sons. Under my leadership, we are once again prioritizing the deportation and prosecution of violent criminals to the fullest extent of the law—reestablishing our Nation’s commitment to the fundamental principles of law, order, and justice. Together, we can create safer homes and stronger communities by taking decisive action against domestic violence in all its disturbing forms, holding abusers accountable, and empowering survivors through unwavering support.
