In reality, it’s just a memoir by CIA operative Osborne Cox (John Malkovich), whose wife, Katie (Tilda Swinton), is now dating another man, Harry Pfarrer (George Clooney). Chad and Linda have no idea what chaos they’re about to unleash.

Their chemistry ignites a romantic spark, but differing perspectives on life threaten to derail their budding romance. Can their brief encounter blossom into something unforgettable, or will it fade away by dawn?

Guy Ritchie is on a creative roll, having directed seven films in just six years. Among them, Wrath of Man stands out as a gripping thriller. It features Jason Statham portraying Patrick Hill, who embarks on a quest to unveil the culprits behind a series of truck heists. While undercover, a surprising plot twist propels the narrative into a new direction and sheds light on Patrick’s true motivations.

Celebrated for Ritchie’s stylish direction, Wrath of Man distinguishes itself through its nonlinear storytelling, cleverly alternating between past and present to elaborate on the heist’s execution and Patrick’s own pursuit of justice. The outcome is a uniquely captivating action film that concludes with an unforgettable twist.

The boxing genre reached its pinnacle with Raging Bull, directed by Martin Scorsese. This powerful film chronicles the life of Jake LaMotta, played by Robert De Niro, an unsympathetic character whose turbulent life is marked by ambition and brutality both inside and outside the ring. The film delves into his complicated relationships with his brother Joey (Joe Pesci) and his wife, Vickie (the exceptional Cathy Moriarty), while exploring Jake’s struggles after retiring from boxing.

Raging Bull is relentless in its portrayal of a small man with a massive ego, and De Niro’s raw performance pulls no punches. The film shines visually, featuring stunning black-and-white cinematography by Michael Chapman and Scorsese’s masterful direction. Though often harrowing, Raging Bull remains utterly captivating—hard to look away from, even when you may want to.

Jack Terri (John Travolta) is a sound technician whose mundane life takes a dramatic turn in Blow Out. Subsequently, he meets the sole survivor, Sally (Nancy Allen), and finds himself embroiled in a political conspiracy that leads to a vicious hitman (John Lithgow), who wants Sally silenced. Jack must act quickly to protect her while uncovering the truth.

Blow Out was initially overlooked but has garnered a significant cult following over the years. Intense and suspenseful, it features stellar performances from Travolta, Allen, and Lithgow. If you’re a fan of mid-90s to early 2000s Britpop, you might recognize Robbie Williams, a star who’s been influential across the globe but hasn’t fully broken into the American market. Better Man, a biopic based on his life, is worth streaming even if you’re not familiar with him. This fun film covers his journey from a teen pop sensation in Take That to a successful solo artist belting out hits like “Angels” and “Rock DJ”.

As expected from such biographical tales, it contains drugs, romance, and near-death experiences. While it follows the familiar musical biopic formula, the film shines with its highly choreographed musical numbers. By the end, you may find yourself tapping along even if you came in as a Robbie Williams skeptic.

The Sonic series has surprisingly exceeded expectations with its adaptations, continuing with Sonic the Hedgehog 3. In this latest installment, Team Sonic—comprising Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey), and Knuckles (Idris Elba)—faces a new adversary: Shadow (Keanu Reeves), who’s been imprisoned for five decades and is decidedly not happy about it. Meanwhile, Gerald Robotnik (Jim Carrey) is back with his own plans for universal domination.

While it’s a silly premise, it works remarkably well, thanks to a cast that seems to be having a great time with the quirky material. Reeves is perfectly cast as a complex hedgehog, while Carrey’s dual role provides ample comedic moments. Despite being based on nostalgic video games, the film successfully brings its delightfully chaotic essence to life.
