The highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour is just around the corner, and fans got a taste of what’s to come when Noel and Liam Gallagher made a virtual appearance together on “Saturday Night Live.” Well, sort of.
During a segment on “Weekend Update,” comedians James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman hilariously portrayed the long estranged Gallagher brothers. When asked by host Colin Jost if they would be able to tour together next year, Johnson’s Noel responded, “I’m cool if he’s cool,” to which Sherman’s Liam retorted, “I’m cooler than you are.” Despite their banter, the brothers seemed to agree on one thing – their favorite cartoon characters.
The Oasis reunion tour is already causing a frenzy among fans, with U.S. tour dates recently announced and tickets selling out fast online. While the Gallagher brothers may still have some unresolved issues to work through, the prospect of seeing them perform together again is enough to get fans excited.
In other news, singer Ariana Grande hosted the “Saturday Night Live” episode and is currently gearing up for her role in the film adaptation of the popular Broadway musical “Wicked.” Set to release on Nov. 22, Grande stars as Galinda Upland alongside Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba Thropp, with a star-studded cast including Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, and more.
As the countdown to the Oasis reunion tour continues, fans can only hope that Noel and Liam Gallagher can put their differences aside for the sake of the music. Whether they’ll be able to stay true to their promise of not breaking up again remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure – the reunion tour is definitely one to watch out for.
