Han Chae Young, a prominent name in K-dramas, has achieved success with “Raising His Mistressâs Child,” a Korean-language adaptation of a globally popular microdrama that has generated over $15 million in revenue.
The series debuted on July 10 on the mobile-centric platform FlareFlow and has already amassed over 10 million views.
The original “Raising His Mistressâs Child” attracted around 4.8 million viewers and recorded more than 513,700 completed views. These impressive numbers led COL Groupâs international platform to create a version specifically for Korean audiences.
The storyline follows a woman who survives a challenging childbirth, only to discover that the child she holds belongs to her husband’s mistress, while her own baby has been taken. Determined, she embarks on a journey to reclaim her child and seek justice.
The Korean adaptation has shown strong early engagement metrics, with an 84.4% retention rate for the first episode and 67.6% for the second.
Han Chae Young, renowned for her roles in “Boys Over Flowers” and “Autumn in My Heart,” exemplifies a regional trend where established film and TV actors are transitioning to mobile-first productions, as the microdrama format continues to attract larger audiences and increased production funding.
