Diane Keaton truly embraced life until her passing.

On October 11, reports confirmed that the actress had passed away in California at the age of 79. A family spokesperson verified her death to People and stated that Keaton’s family has requested “privacy” during this time.

The Oscar-winning actress had a distinguished career, appearing in iconic films such as Annie Hall, Something’s Gotta Give, and The First Wives Club, yet she never confined herself to a single genre.

In her later years, Keaton ventured into various projects, creating Christmas albums, launching her eyewear line, and making a cameo in one of Justin Bieber‘s memorable music videos.

In a exclusive conversation with Us Weekly in September 2022, Keaton mentioned she was open to any future projects that might come her way.

“I’d be willing to explore any opportunity that presents itself. Who knows what lies ahead? It could be nothing at all,” she expressed. “I’ve been fortunate, and thus I’m reluctant to dismiss anything without assessing if it’s something I could truly embrace.”.

As the entertainment world continues to honor Keaton’s legacy, Us is reflecting on her remarkable ventures in her later years:

In August 2024, Keaton unveiled the Diane Keaton x Lookoptic collection, featuring classic readers with scratch-resistant standard or progressive lenses in both clear and tinted variations.

“Diane Keaton is the quintessential icon for women who wear glasses,” said Lookoptic’s founder, Andrew Leary, in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter when the line debuted. “When we reached out, we found out her favorite style had been retired. Together, we revived the silhouette with fresh tints and colors, and the ‘Keaton’ collection was born!”

Diane Keaton’s Home Decor Collection

In the summer of 2024, Keaton collaborated with Hudson Grace to create the brand’s inaugural collection, which offered an array of items including tableware, bedding, candles, and even dog bowls. This venture was especially meaningful for the actress.

“The collection embodies timelessness,” Keaton told People. “Each piece is an eclectic design intended for those who cherish family, friends, and, most importantly, their furry companions!”

Diane Keaton’s Christmas Album

In November 2024, Keaton demonstrated that it’s never too late to venture into new artistic territories by releasing her first holiday single, “First Christmas,”

The song intended to convey feelings of hope and tranquility, especially for those reflecting on lost loved ones during the festive season.

“It’s such a beautiful sentiment, and I was excited to sing it,” Keaton commented in an interview ahead of the song’s release. “I’m honored to be part of this lovely Christmas tune and hope it resonates with listeners.”

Diane Keaton’s Cameo in Justin Bieber’s Music Video

When Bieber released the music video for his hit track “Ghost,” fans were astonished to see Keaton appear in it.

In the three-and-a-half-minute video, she portrayed Bieber’s grandmother, grieving the loss of her husband.

“I wasn’t really familiar with him; I hadn’t been a fan,” Keaton shared in a conversation with Metro back in 2023. “I appreciated the music but wasn’t a dedicated fan. I don’t know how I got involved, but I loved the experience.”

Diane Keaton’s Private Health Matters

A close friend revealed to People that Keaton experienced a rapid decline in health, which was devastating for those who cared for her.

“It was sudden and shocking for someone with such vitality,” the source shared. “In her last months, she sought the comfort of her closest family members, who chose to maintain a private atmosphere. Even her long-time friends were largely kept in the dark regarding her condition.”
