A Georgia Superior Court Judge found himself in a rather precarious situation when he was arrested for drunk driving early Tuesday morning after backing his Mercedes into a Ford F-150 in the parking lot of Wacko’s Gentlemen’s Club.

Forty-eight-year-old Robert Guy Jr. was taken into custody after he attempted to bribe the other driver with $500 to avoid providing his personal details, as detailed in the arrest report retrieved by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

His getaway was thwarted not by the law, but by his own level of intoxication, which rendered him incapable of driving away.

According to police accounts, Guy was visibly impaired, exhibiting slurred speech and carrying an unmistakable scent of alcohol.

After a series of refusals to produce his identification, police arrested Guy at the club, charging him with DUI, refusal to submit to a breathalyzer, as well as DUI-property damage.

Interestingly, the Sheriff’s Department opted not to release Guy’s booking photo due to his judicial position, a clear inflection point in how authority and accountability intersect.

Following the incident, Guy swiftly reported his arrest to the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission and subsequently resigned from his position. In a resignation statement, he expressed, “It has been a distinct honor and privilege to serve the Council of Superior Court Judges as President and in other roles; however, today I am resigning effective immediately as Council President,” according to the AJC.

The New York Post further elaborated on the incident, noting:

One of Georgia’s most senior judges has been arrested for alleged drunk driving following a minor collision outside Wacko’s strip club. Robert “Bert” Guy Jr., 48, resigned as president of Georgia’s Council of Superior Court Judges days after the early morning incident in Jacksonville.

Allegedly, he backed his luxury car into another vehicle just after 3 a.m., attempting to leverage his position with a cash offer in a bid to avoid information exchange. However, he was unable to escape the situation due to his apparent inebriation, as reported by a valet who witnessed the events unfold.

Upon escort from the scene, employees at the nightclub remained attentive to him, reflecting a concerning intersection between judicial responsibility and personal conduct.
