New talent is also joining the production team for this season, including four-time Academy Award-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, who will serve as a co-producer. Natasha Newman-Thomas has taken on the role of costume designer, while Francois Audouy has been appointed production designer. Notably, Hans Zimmer will compose music for certain episodes, alongside Labrinth, who will return to continue his previous work on the show.
Austin Abrams and Algee Smith were omitted from HBO’s casting list, along with Storm Reid, who announced in November that her character, Rue’s sister Gia, would not be appearing this season. Barbie Ferreira, known for her portrayal of Kat, departed the series in August 2022. Angus Cloud, who was featured as Fezco in the first two seasons, tragically passed away at the age of 25 in July 2023.
“Euphoria” centers around a group of high school students navigating the tumultuous waters of adolescence, particularly focusing on Rue, a teen grappling with drug addiction, and her struggles to deal with complex social environments, family turmoil, and the challenge of sobriety after rehabilitation. The second season aired in 2022, making it HBO’s highest-rated show not centered around dragons or zombies. The series has garnered an impressive 25 Emmy nominations, winning nine awards across its first two seasons. Currently, Season 3 is being filmed in Los Angeles after several production interruptions.
