Reigning ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon of Thailand is gearing up for his upcoming world title defense against interim titleholder Masaaki Noiri with unwavering confidence. The 35-year-old veteran is set to face off against the Japanese superstar in the main event of ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri on Nov. 16, and Superbon is not daunted by the challenge ahead.
Having faced the best in the world of kickboxing and Muay Thai, Superbon believes that Noiri has nothing new to offer him inside the Circle. The founder of the Superbon Training Camp is well-prepared to handle strong kickboxers with a similar fighting style to Noiri, stating, “I have some methods to cope with great and strong kickboxers with this same style.”
Superbon will be defending his title for the first time since winning the interim belt against Marat Grigorian in April of 2024, subsequently being elevated to full champion status after Chingiz Allazov’s retirement. Tickets for ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri are available via ePlus in Japan, with streaming options for fans in North America on onefc.com.
In the face of fighting on hostile territory, Superbon remains unfazed by the hometown crowd support that Noiri is expected to receive at Ariake Arena. The Thai icon is no stranger to competing in such conditions and is focused on silencing the Japanese crowd come fight night. He emphasizes that, ultimately, it will be just two fighters in the ring regardless of the audience’s allegiance.
