Cliff Divers at Casa Bonita Go on Strike
Update: Casa Bonita’s performers, including divers, magicians, and actors, will be on strike from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 due to failed contract negotiations. The strike will take place outside the iconic pink palace in Lakewood.
Since voting to unionize in November 2024, Casa Bonita workers have been pushing for better pay and workplace protections. The restaurant, now owned by Matt Stone and Trey Parker of “South Park” fame, has faced challenges in reaching a fair agreement with its performers.
Despite serving thousands of diners weekly, concerns over safety and working conditions have led to the current strike. Negotiations have been ongoing since April, with management failing to address key proposals from the union.
In response to the strike, Casa Bonita management offered minimal concessions, leading to further tensions. The restaurant remains open during the strike, with guests receiving complimentary drinks or arcade credits as a gesture of goodwill.
