Kacie McIntosh faced a lot of backlash during the Love Is Blind season 9 reunion, but her castmate Megan “Sparkle Megan” Walerius has come to her defense. On a recent episode of the “What’s the Reality” podcast, Megan expressed sympathy for Kacie, who she felt had become an easy target for criticism.
The reunion saw Kacie revisiting her broken engagement to Patrick Suzuki and getting into a heated debate about who should keep the production-provided engagement ring. Additionally, Kacie revealed that she had a brief relationship with fellow contestant Joe Ferrucci after he ended things with his fiancée Madison Maidenberg.
Megan reflected on the tension that still lingered among the cast members and the fiery interactions that took place during the reunion. She acknowledged that it was difficult to watch at times but commended Patrick for encouraging Kacie to take responsibility, apologize, and move forward.
During the reunion, Kacie and Joe clarified that their romantic involvement only began after they were both single, despite Madison’s belief that their brief romance had affected her engagement. Madison alleged that she witnessed Kacie making advances towards Joe while she was still engaged to him, which led to their breakup.
The drama escalated further when Madison claimed that Kacie had cried over her breakup with Joe at a party and suggested that they were “Eskimo sisters.” Joe denied being in a relationship with Averee Madison, his current girlfriend, at the time, stating that they had a rocky start before officially dating in November.
Meanwhile, Megan shared that she has distanced herself from the drama and is focusing on her new relationship and her baby boy, Brooks, whom she welcomed with boyfriend Paul Wegman. She revealed that she and Paul hit it off immediately after being introduced by a mutual friend and have had their fair share of challenges but are now enjoying parenthood together.
As for the Love Is Blind cast, the reunion showcased the ongoing drama and revelations that have unfolded since the season ended without any couples getting married. The show continues to stream on Netflix for fans to enjoy the rollercoaster of emotions and relationships that were put to the test in the pods.
