MJF, the talented homegrown star of AEW, has been on a hiatus for the past few months. However, new details have emerged about his return to the wrestling ring. Since AEW’s inception in 2019, Maxwell has quickly risen to prominence, capturing the World Title and establishing himself as one of the top heels in the industry. He has been a regular fixture on AEW television, but recently took time off to film for the movie Violent Night 2. As a result, fans have not seen him on TV since All Out 2025.
Recent reports from Fightful Select indicate that filming for Violent Night 2 is almost complete. Initially, it was believed that MJF would juggle between tapings and the film set, but that has not been the case. There is no set timeline for his AEW return, with sources suggesting that MJF has developed a passion for acting and has enjoyed his time on set.
In his last promo before his hiatus, MJF seemed to confuse veteran Jim Cornette. After his loss to Mark Briscoe at All Out, MJF announced backstage that he was taking a break, leaving many fans and critics puzzled about the direction of his character. Cornette, speaking on his podcast, expressed his confusion about the promo and speculated on MJF’s future in AEW.
It remains to be seen when MJF will make his return to the ring and how his character will evolve following his hiatus. For now, fans eagerly await his comeback and the impact he will make upon his return to AEW programming.
