A recent incident involving a Cincinnati City Council candidate has shocked the community. Kevin Farmer, 39, was arrested for allegedly breaking into the home of Rosemary Oglesby-Henry, a Republican politician running for Ohio’s 1st Congressional District. The incident occurred on Halloween night, where Farmer was caught on camera smashing a garage window to gain entry into Oglesby-Henry’s home.

Oglesby-Henry revealed to the police that she had a past relationship with Farmer, describing him as an abuser against whom she had obtained a restraining order. This was not the first time the two individuals had clashed, as Farmer had previously been arrested in July on assault and domestic violence charges against Oglesby-Henry. Although the charges were dropped, she was able to secure a restraining order against him.

Despite multiple warnings from the authorities to leave the premises, Farmer persisted in entering the home. Oglesby-Henry provided the police with footage of Farmer inside her kitchen, solidifying the charges of burglary and violating a protection order against him. Farmer is currently in custody at the Hamilton County Detention Center on a $60,000 bond and may be required to wear an ankle monitor if released.

Prior to the incident, Farmer was running for a seat on the Cincinnati City Council without party endorsement. However, he announced his withdrawal from the race just days before his arrest, although his name will still appear on the ballot. Oglesby-Henry, on the other hand, is vying for Ohio’s 1st Congressional District seat and will be competing in the 2026 Republican primary against other candidates.

In a turn of events, Oglesby-Henry herself was arrested in September for aggravated battery after allegedly pointing a gun at Farmer in her home. She denied the allegations, claiming that Farmer was squatting in her house. Despite the legal troubles, she remains steadfast in her determination to use the law to protect women and set her life back on track.

The ongoing saga between Farmer and Oglesby-Henry highlights the complexities of personal relationships and the impact they can have on public life. As the legal proceedings continue, the community will be watching closely to see how these events unfold.
