At 19 years old, Maria de la Orden embarked on a family holiday to Peru that would change the course of her career. Prior to this trip, she was studying law and economics at the Sorbonne University in Paris. However, the vibrant Peruvian craftsmanship she encountered resonated deeply with her, prompting a pivotal shift in her life path.

Upon her return to Paris, Orden decided to channel her newfound inspiration into creating a small line of jackets under the brand Mau Loa. As her passion for design grew, she eventually rebranded the label to her eponymous brand, Maria de la Orden. Today, her collections of colorful and nostalgic silhouettes can be found in prestigious retailers like Galeries Lafayette and Liberty London, as well as in her own boutique in Saint-Germain.

In addition to her successful career in fashion, Orden also balances her time between Paris and Madrid, her hometown. Recently, she completed a remarkable renovation project on a house located in the tranquil residential area of Cruz del Rayo. Purchased a few years ago, Orden and her husband embarked on the renovation journey in 2024, enlisting the expertise of renowned interior designer Isabel López-Quesada to bring their vision to life.

The renovation process, which lasted approximately a year, allowed Orden to reimagine every detail of the home according to her aesthetic preferences. Collaborating with López-Quesada was a dream come true for Orden, as they discovered a shared taste and seamless creative synergy throughout the project. The result is a beautifully transformed space that reflects Orden’s unique style and personality.

The house in Cruz del Rayo now serves as a serene sanctuary for Orden and her family, showcasing a harmonious blend of modernity and tradition. The interiors exude warmth and sophistication, with carefully curated furnishings and decor that reflect Orden’s love for vibrant colors and timeless elegance.
