Dr. Mehmet Oz swiftly came to the man’s aid, while Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., quickly moved out of the way.
Footage of the incident captured Trump turning towards the man as he received care, before turning back and standing with his arms by his sides. A photo taken by Getty Images photographer Andrew Harnik documented this moment.
Harnik’s photograph sparked a range of reactions on social media, with many interpreting it as evidence that Trump may not be as concerned about others as he should be.
When the conference resumed thirty minutes later, Trump provided an update on the man’s condition, without mentioning him by name.
“One of the representatives from one of these companies felt a bit lightheaded,” he stated. “We noticed he went down, but he’s okay. They took him out and he’s receiving medical attention here. But he’s going to be fine.”
As of Thursday afternoon, the cause of the man’s collapse remained unknown.
