Jenn Lyon faced an exciting challenge in bringing Monica Aldama from “Cheer” to life in the new NBC sitcom “Stumble” while also adding her own touch to the character. The character of Courtney, inspired by Aldama, is tough, loving, driven, and committed, reflecting the DNA of the real-life coach.

“Monica is on the page. The writers have created a brilliant character to play, but it definitely is inspired by Monica,” Lyon shared exclusively with Us Weekly. “She is tough as nails and inscrutable at points. But the way she is stern but loving, the way she’d give you the shirt off her back, the way she is driven and committed is all over the DNA of the character.”

“Stumble” is a mockumentary that delves into the competitive world of junior college cheerleading, with Aldama making a cameo appearance in the series premiere. The show offers a humorous take on the intense world of cheerleading, drawing inspiration from Aldama’s experiences as the coach of the Navarro College cheerleading team.

Courtney, Lyon’s character, is a different lady from Aldama. While she has aspects of Monica, Lyon worked with the writers, creators, and director to flesh out Courtney’s character, infusing warmth and wackiness into her portrayal. Lyon revealed, “I love to trip over things on the floor. I love to run into a doorjamb. These are things that Monica doesn’t do.”

Lyon had the opportunity to gain insights from Aldama, who serves as an executive producer on the show. She observed Aldama’s commanding presence and encyclopedic knowledge of cheerleading, learning valuable lessons just by watching her in action.

Having watched the “Cheer” documentary during the pandemic, Lyon felt a strong connection to the world of cheerleading. This connection proved invaluable in preparing for her role in “Stumble.”

Filming “Stumble” introduced Lyon to a new style of performance, as it was her first experience in a mockumentary format. Adjusting to the performative aspect of the show, where characters interact with the camera, was a new challenge for Lyon but ultimately added depth to her portrayal.

“Stumble” premieres on NBC on Friday, November 7, at 8:30 p.m. ET, with streaming available the following day on Peacock. Don’t miss the hilarious exploration of the competitive cheerleading world in this new mockumentary series. The world of technology is constantly evolving, with new innovations being introduced on a regular basis. One of the latest trends in technology is the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. These technologies are revolutionizing the way we live and work, and are having a significant impact on a wide range of industries.

AI and machine learning are two closely related fields that involve the development of computer systems that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. These systems are able to learn from data, recognize patterns, and make decisions without being explicitly programmed to do so. This ability to learn and adapt is what sets AI and machine learning apart from traditional computer programs.

The applications of AI and machine learning are vast and varied. In the healthcare industry, these technologies are being used to improve the accuracy of medical diagnoses, personalize treatment plans, and even predict patient outcomes. In the financial sector, AI and machine learning are being used to detect fraud, automate trading strategies, and analyze market trends. In the transportation industry, these technologies are being used to develop self-driving cars and optimize traffic flow.

One of the key drivers of the growth of AI and machine learning is the vast amount of data that is now being generated and collected. Advances in data storage and processing technologies have made it possible to analyze massive datasets in real-time, allowing for more accurate predictions and insights. This data-driven approach has led to the development of sophisticated algorithms that are able to learn from this data and improve over time.

Despite the many benefits of AI and machine learning, there are also concerns about the potential risks and challenges associated with these technologies. One of the main concerns is the ethical implications of using AI to make decisions that affect people’s lives. There are also concerns about the potential for bias and discrimination in AI algorithms, as well as the potential for job displacement as AI and machine learning systems automate tasks that were previously performed by humans.

Overall, the rise of artificial intelligence and machine learning is having a profound impact on society and the economy. These technologies have the potential to revolutionize industries, improve efficiency, and drive innovation. However, it is important for policymakers, businesses, and individuals to carefully consider the ethical and social implications of AI and machine learning, and to work towards ensuring that these technologies are used in a responsible and equitable manner.
