A shocking incident occurred on Friday morning when a 16-year-old boy was shot on the grounds of a Bronx public housing complex. The shooting took place at East 161st Street and Forest Avenue, which is part of NYCHA’s William McKinley Houses in Morrisania, as reported by the authorities.
The teen sustained a gunshot wound to his back around 9:30 a.m. and was immediately rushed to Harlem Hospital for treatment. Thankfully, he was in stable condition, according to the police.
Details about the suspect responsible for the shooting or the circumstances leading up to the incident were not immediately available. This unfortunate event came on the heels of another violent altercation involving a teenager who was stabbed during a brawl with three other individuals near Yankee Stadium.
In this separate incident, a young teen was stabbed in the right side of his stomach during a fight at East 163rd Street and Grand Concourse in Concourse Village. The victim was also taken to Harlem Hospital and listed in stable condition.
Additionally, the previous day saw a shooting incident where a 27-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were both shot outside a building on Briggs Avenue near East Kingsbridge Road in Fordham Heights. The victims were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
These incidents highlight the concerning levels of violence in certain neighborhoods and serve as a reminder of the need for increased safety measures and community support.
