New Jersey Woman Allegedly Confesses to Stabbing Baby Brother After Hearing Voices
A shocking incident unfolded in Brick Township, New Jersey, where a 20-year-old woman named Marlene Rodriguez allegedly confessed to stabbing her baby brother in the chest. The disturbing revelation came to light when detectives investigating the November 1 attack discovered that Rodriguez claimed to have heard voices instructing her to commit the heinous act.
According to court documents, Rodriguez’s cousin informed authorities that she had brought up the topic of human sacrifice, asking if they had ever sacrificed anyone. This unsettling behavior raised concerns among family members, leading to the tragic incident that followed.
The harrowing scene unfolded when the boy’s mother heard him crying and rushed to his room, only to find him with stab wounds and a knife lying next to him on the floor. Miraculously, the 2-year-old survived the brutal attack and is currently in stable condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. He is recovering from a punctured lung and a cut to the wall of his heart, as per court records.
Upon arriving at the scene on Burke Avenue around 2:30 p.m., police found the injured child alert and conscious. Rodriguez was taken into custody and reportedly confessed to the crime after being read her rights twice.

During questioning at the police station, Rodriguez reportedly recalled the incident and mentioned hearing multiple voices, suggesting she may have been experiencing hallucinations. In a disturbing turn of events, she responded in Spanish, indicating that a third person was advising her to stop talking to avoid going to jail.
Authorities ceased further interrogation at that point, recognizing the need to assess Rodriguez’s mental state and the potential influence of hallucinations on her actions. The investigation into this tragic event continues as the family and community come to terms with the shocking nature of the crime.
