Cinta Vidal’s latest exhibition at Thinkspace Projects in Los Angeles, titled “Inward,” showcases her mesmerizing compositions of domestic interiors that continue to captivate viewers. Vidal’s unique style of creating “un-gravity constructions” challenges the traditional notions of space and time, presenting a world where reality appears folded and warped.

In her intricate paintings, Vidal depicts people occupying different areas of invented apartments and homes, inviting viewers to ponder whether each tableau represents a different period of time or parallel universes. The gallery describes her work as illustrating the various ways in which the world is experienced by a mass population, showcasing both macro and micro levels of inverted structures.

Vidal’s exploration of interiority in her artwork delves into the shared indoor spaces we inhabit as well as the private, inward-facing states we enter when disconnecting from our surroundings. Whether it’s a sofa symbolizing togetherness or quiet retreat, her scenes reflect a subtle coexistence of being together yet each within their own space.

The exhibition “Inward” runs through November 29 in Los Angeles, offering viewers a chance to immerse themselves in Vidal’s thought-provoking compositions. As a complement to the show, the artist has also painted a new mural on the side of a local frame shop in Marina del Rey called Sherman Gallery.
