Disney+ has just announced that they have greenlit a second season of the highly anticipated Korean crime series “Made in Korea,” even before the premiere of the first season. The production for the follow-up season is already in progress, showcasing the streaming platform’s confidence in the show.

The renewal news was disclosed during a panel discussion featuring the stars of the series, including Hyun Bin, Jung Woosung, and Woo Dohwan, along with director Woo Minho, at the Disney+ originals preview event held at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. Additionally, Disney+ confirmed that the first season of “Made in Korea” will be launching on December 24th.

Set in 1970s Korea, “Made in Korea” is a gripping crime noir that revolves around Baek Kitae, a KCIA agent who leads a double life as a smuggler. As he engages in illicit activities to advance within the agency, he also strives to protect his brother and accumulate wealth. However, his plans encounter a major obstacle when he crosses paths with an incorruptible prosecutor, sparking a high-stakes showdown between the two men.

The stellar cast includes Hyun Bin in the role of agent Baek Kitae, Jung Woosung portraying prosecutor Jang Geonyoung, and Woo Dohwan as Kitae’s brother, Baek Kihyun. The series is penned by Park Eunkyo and Park Joonseok, with direction by Woo Minho. Hive Media Corp is responsible for producing the show.

Fans can look forward to the premiere of “Made in Korea” with a two-episode debut on December 24th, followed by episodes three and four on December 31st. Episode five is scheduled for release on January 7th, with the finale airing on January 14th. The second season of the series is expected to arrive in late 2026.
