Rogers Park Man Claims Demon Caused Fatal Injuries to Infant Son

A tragic incident has shaken the community of Rogers Park as a 24-year-old man, Anthony Evans, stands accused of the first-degree murder of his 12-week-old son, Kayson Flowers. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office revealed that Evans attributed the fatal injuries to a demon inside him during interrogation.

According to prosecutors, Kayson Flowers succumbed to multiple injuries sustained from child abuse. The case unveiled a tumultuous relationship between Evans and Kayson’s mother, Kayla Flowers, dating back to their teenage years. Despite Evans initially pressuring Kayla to abort the pregnancy, Kayson was born on January 29.

In a harrowing turn of events, Kayla noticed scratches on Kayson’s face and a fever after Evans returned the baby following a day in his care. A subsequent hospital visit revealed no serious harm initially. However, on April 27, Kayla received Kayson back from Evans in a critical condition, leading to his tragic demise.

Medical reports indicated severe injuries including bleeding on the brain, spinal cord hemorrhaging, facial bruising, rib fractures, and internal bleeding, all consistent with blunt force trauma. Evans’ alarming behavior extended beyond the tragic incident, with reports of him punching Kayla shortly after Kayson’s birth, causing her physical harm.

During interrogation, Evans shockingly claimed that a demon had taken control of him, leading to the fatal assault on Kayson. He confessed to assaulting the infant, attributing the excessive force to the demon’s influence and his stress over the relationship with Kayla.

Despite initial detainment and release by authorities, Evans was rearrested and now faces severe charges in connection with Kayson’s death. The court has ordered his detention, reflecting the gravity of the situation and the need for justice in this heartbreaking case.

As the community mourns the loss of young Kayson Flowers, the legal proceedings will shed light on the disturbing circumstances surrounding his untimely passing and seek accountability for the tragic outcome.
