The Hollywood Walk of Fame will soon welcome the late actor Chadwick Boseman with a posthumous star. Five years after his passing from colon cancer at the age of 43, Boseman will be honored with the 2,828th star on the iconic Walk of Fame in Hollywood. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce made the announcement, revealing that the ceremony will take place next Thursday.

Director Ryan Coogler, who collaborated with Boseman on “Black Panther,” and Viola Davis, his co-star in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” will both speak at the event. Boseman’s widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will accept the star on his behalf.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” said Ana Martinez, a producer with the Walk of Fame. “His powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations worldwide.”

Boseman, known for portraying real-life Black icons and his role as T’Challa in “Black Panther,” made significant contributions to the film industry. His posthumous recognition on the Walk of Fame is a testament to his lasting impact.

Joining a prestigious list of recent Walk of Fame recipients, Boseman’s star will stand as a tribute to his talent and influence in the world of entertainment.
