The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Man in Road Rage Shooting

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office announced on Thursday that they have arrested a man in connection with a road rage shooting incident on U.S. 285 that occurred on Tuesday.

Matthew Impellitteri, 56, has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder after deliberation and two counts of attempted first-degree murder with extreme indifference.

According to the sheriff’s office, Impellitteri allegedly shot a person in the head during a road-rage crash that took place approximately 9 miles southwest of Morrison. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, is currently in critical condition as stated in the news release.

Impellitteri was apprehended at his residence in the 8400 block of South U.S. 285, which is in close proximity to the location of the shooting incident.
