Tragedy struck Tokerau Beach in the Far North last night as a fatal accident unfolded when a four-wheel-drive vehicle rolled over, resulting in one person losing their life.
Emergency services responded to the scene around 7:30pm, initially reporting critical injuries with efforts underway to extract a trapped individual from the wreckage.
Regrettably, authorities later confirmed the discovery of a deceased individual at the crash site.
Two other individuals from the vehicle were promptly airlifted to a nearby hospital, with one in critical condition and the other in moderate condition.
An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is currently underway by the police.
