Qualcomm has recently unveiled a new chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, which is targeted towards the emerging class of almost-flagship smartphones. The launch of this new chip is scheduled for 26 November, with promises of “flagship performance with its 8-core processor.”
This new chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, seems to be a slightly scaled-down version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip that powers the upcoming OnePlus 15. Speaking of which, it has been revealed that the OnePlus Ace 6T will be the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. The OnePlus Ace 6T is expected to be released globally as the OnePlus 15R, as hinted by OnePlus recently.
The OnePlus 15R, which is the successor to last year’s OnePlus 13R, is said to offer incredible power and provide an outstanding gaming experience. OnePlus seems to be focusing heavily on gaming performance with the OnePlus 15R, as indicated by its ability to handle 165fps games. This suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip is going to be highly capable, and the OnePlus 15R will likely come with a 165Hz display, similar to the OnePlus 15.
With Qualcomm’s announcement date set for 26 November, we can expect the OnePlus Ace 6T to be unveiled around that time, followed by the OnePlus 15R shortly after. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting new devices.
