Anna Kepner’s younger stepbrother, who is a suspect in her murder, had an unsettling fixation on the Florida cheerleader. He was once caught climbing on top of her while she was sleeping, as revealed by the father of Kepner’s ex-boyfriend.
According to Steven Westin, Kepner’s 16-year-old stepbrother was obsessed with her and relentlessly pursued her despite their blended family dynamic.
Westin expressed concern, stating, “She was scared of him because he always carried around a big knife.” He also mentioned that his son, Joshua, who was in a relationship with Kepner, witnessed the stepbrother’s inappropriate behavior towards her.
Describing the stepbrother as infatuated and attracted to Kepner, Westin recounted that the suspect always wanted to date her.
Despite Joshua’s attempts to alert Kepner’s parents about the situation, they were dismissive of his concerns.
Tragically, Kepner’s life came to a sudden end on the Carnival Horizon cruise ship. Her body was discovered hidden under her bed in her cabin, covered in life vests.
She had embarked on the cruise with her father, stepmother, and siblings, including the stepbrother who is now under scrutiny by the FBI.

The FBI is currently investigating Kepner’s stepbrother, as indicated in court documents filed by her stepmother, Shauntel Hudson.
Before her tragic demise, Kepner was a high school senior set to graduate from Temple Christian School in Titusville, Florida. She was also a member of the varsity cheer team at Titusville High School.
