The U.S. Department of Transportation is launching a “civility campaign” to promote good behavior on flights and at airports during the holiday travel season. The campaign, named “The Golden Age of Travel Starts with You,” aims to encourage courteous behavior among travelers.

The DOT shared a video featuring past and present airline travel experiences, highlighting the importance of respectful conduct. Secretary Sean Duffy posed five questions for air travelers to consider, emphasizing the significance of kindness and gratitude towards fellow passengers and airline staff.

The campaign seeks to initiate a national dialogue on restoring courtesy and class to air travel, with a focus on ensuring the safety and comfort of all individuals involved in the travel process.

Recent data from the DOT shows a significant increase in unruly passenger incidents, prompting the need for a renewed emphasis on respectful behavior. As air travel sees a surge in passengers this holiday season, the FAA anticipates a busy travel period with millions of Americans taking to the skies for Thanksgiving.
