“Stranger Things” Season 5: A Thrilling Return to Hawkins

The eagerly anticipated fifth season of “Stranger Things” is finally here, marking the conclusion of the beloved Netflix series. Set 18 months after the events of Season 4, the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, finds itself under military control and quarantined as the Upside Down and the real world collide. The Hawkins group is on a mission to find and defeat the evil monster Vecna, facing the daunting task of saving humanity before it’s too late.

The main cast members, including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, and more, reprise their roles for the final season. New additions to the cast for Season 5 include Nell Fisher, Linda Hamilton, Alex Breaux, and Jake Connelly.

While this may be the end of “Stranger Things,” fans can look forward to more spooky adventures in the form of an animated spinoff titled “Stranger Things: Tales From ’85,” set to release next year. Additionally, the hit Broadway show “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” delves into Vecna’s origins in 1959 with younger versions of the adult cast members.

Here’s a guide to who’s back for Season 5 of “Stranger Things” and what they’ve been up to in the nine years since the show began:

– Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown): A young girl with telepathic and psychokinetic powers, Eleven has been on a journey of self-discovery since escaping Hawkins National Laboratory. Millie Bobby Brown has expanded her acting career with roles in the “Enola James” franchise, “Godzilla” movies, and more. In 2024, she married Jake Bongiovi and adopted a daughter in 2025.

– Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo): Known for his strategic thinking and love for Dungeons and Dragons, Dustin continues to be a vital part of the Hawkins team. Gaten Matarazzo has voiced characters in various projects and starred in the revival of “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” as Tobias Ragg.

– Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin): An original member of the young ensemble, Lucas reunites with his friends to face new challenges in Season 5. Caleb McLaughlin has appeared in films like “High Flying Bird,” “Concrete Cowboy,” and “The Book of Clarence.”

– Will Byers (Noah Schnapp): The character at the center of the series’ inception, Will has endured a unique connection to the Upside Down. Noah Schnapp has grown up alongside the character, appearing in projects like “Hubie Halloween” and “Abe.”

– Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink): A fearless and clever addition to the Hawkins group, Max plays a crucial role in the fight against Vecna. Sadie Sink’s upcoming projects include “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and roles in “The Whale,” “Fear Street” movies, and Broadway’s “John Proctor Is the Villain.”

– Steve Harrington (Joe Keery): The high school heartthrob and unofficial babysitter for the younger kids, Steve has evolved into a multi-talented individual. Joe Keery has expanded his career with roles in shows like “Fargo” and films like “Free Guy” and “Marmalade,” along with a music career under the name Djo.
