Stranger Things Season 5: A Slow Burn With Explosive Potential

As fans eagerly awaited the return of the hit series Stranger Things, the first four episodes of season five left them wanting more. While these episodes were filled with eye-popping set pieces and gripping moments, there was a sense that the Duffer brothers were holding back, saving the best for later.

The thrill of unexpected moments, like the iconic “Running Up That Hill” sequence from a previous season, was missing in these initial episodes. That particular moment had taken viewers by surprise, showcasing the show’s commitment to delivering high-octane excitement in every episode. Unfortunately, the current season has yet to reach that same level of intensity.

With the hefty length of the episodes and the likely high production costs, some fans couldn’t help but wish that the creators had gone all out from the start. However, there is still hope that the slower build-up in the first half of the season will lead to a satisfying payoff in the second half.
