Cineflix Rights has recently announced the successful sales of two popular international dramas, “The Minister” from Iceland and “Manayek” from Israel, to various territories across Europe and beyond.

“Manayek,” a gripping thriller produced by Yoav Gross Productions, has secured deals for its second and third seasons in France and Germany. The series follows a seasoned internal affairs investigator who uncovers a case of police corruption involving his best friend as the prime suspect. As the two friends find themselves on opposite sides of the law, a intense cat and mouse chase ensues to uncover the truth.

On the other hand, Icelandic political drama “The Minister,” produced by Sagafilm, has been picked up by HBO Nordics and SBS (Australia) for its first two seasons. The show stars Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Prime Minister Benedikt Ríkharðsson, who faces personal and political challenges due to a medical condition that threatens the stability of the government.

Tim Mutimer, CEO of Cineflix Rights, highlighted the appeal of international dramas with universal themes set in unique cultural contexts. He expressed his excitement over the continued success of “Manayek” and “The Minister” in the global market.

The sales deals were facilitated by Cineflix Rights’ sales consultants, with Sabrina Ayala handling negotiations with ARTE for Iberia, Italy, French-speaking Europe, and French Canada. Sandra Piha closed the deal with HBO Nordics for pan-regional sales in the U.K., Ireland, and Scandinavia, while Chris Bluett secured the agreement with SBS for sales in Asia Pacific and Benelux.

The popularity of these international dramas underscores the growing demand for diverse and engaging storytelling from around the world. With strong performances and compelling narratives, “Manayek” and “The Minister” are poised to captivate audiences in their respective territories and beyond.
