Details have emerged on how the Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ will compare to their flagship smartphone predecessors, with the smaller model showing significant upgrades.
According to prolific Samsung leaker Ice Universe, a chart has been compiled detailing the differences between the Samsung Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ compared to the Samsung Galaxy S25 and the Samsung Galaxy S25+.
The smaller Galaxy S26 appears to be the standout upgrade of the two models.
How the Samsung Galaxy S26 Compares
The Galaxy S26 is expected to feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch AMOLED display compared to the Galaxy S25’s 6.2-inch screen. This small increase aligns the series with competitors like the iPhone 17 and Google Pixel 10.
Additionally, the new phone will come equipped with a more powerful processor, either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip or the Exynos 2600.
The Galaxy S26 will also boast a 4300mAh battery, a 7.5% increase from the Galaxy S25’s 4000mAh cell. Other notable upgrades include a slimmer design at 6.9mm thickness and an increase in base storage to 256GB.
Although the camera setup and 25W wired charging support remain unchanged, these improvements make the Galaxy S26 a compelling upgrade.
What about the Samsung Galaxy S26+?
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S26+ seems to align more closely with its predecessor, the Galaxy S25+. The display, camera, battery, and proportions of the S26+ are expected to be similar to the S25+.
Rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S26+ was a late addition to the lineup, possibly replacing the anticipated S26 Edge model. Poor sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge may have influenced this decision.
Despite the similarities between the S26+ and the S25+, the upgrades in the Galaxy S26 make it a more appealing choice for users looking for enhanced features and performance.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ offer incremental improvements over their predecessors, with the smaller S26 standing out as the model with the most significant upgrades. Users can look forward to a better display, processor, battery life, and storage capacity in the new Galaxy S series smartphones.
