John Cena, the iconic wrestler, has recently shared a poignant update ahead of his final match in WWE. The Cenation Leader is set to compete in his retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.

Last month, the 48-year-old captured the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio, but his reign was short-lived. During a rematch at Survivor Series, Liv Morgan made a surprise return from injury and interfered in the match, allowing Mysterio to reclaim the title with a victory over Cena.

Taking to Instagram, Cena posted an image of a clock ticking down with just one second left, symbolizing the imminent end of his wrestling career.

In the wrestling world, LA Knight and Gunther have advanced in the Last Time is Now tournament on WWE RAW. They will face off in the finals to determine who will challenge Cena in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Renowned wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has suggested that Cena should emerge victorious in his retirement match after his loss to Mysterio. Meltzer believes that Cena should not end his WWE tenure with two consecutive losses and should defeat Gunther in his last match.

Cena’s recent journey in WWE saw him win the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41, only to lose it to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2025. Fans are eagerly anticipating what the company has planned for Cena’s farewell match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

As Cena prepares to bid farewell to the wrestling ring, the WWE universe is bracing for an emotional and unforgettable moment in his illustrious career. Stay tuned to witness Cena’s final chapter in WWE history at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
